Hot to trot with the summer bot by Prophets and Province of Antwerp

Tripfixer: that´s the name of the new chatbot of the Province of Antwerp, which will take you in tow all summer long, so no chance for boredom. Via Messenger you can even fire off questions to the bot at two in the morning. In exchange you receive tips for trips, events, sports activities, festivals … The production of the bot was a challenge for Prophets, De Vloer assumed responsibility for creation and conversation.


A bot is hot

Why a bot? Paul Hendrickx of Province of Antwerp: “We wanted to bring out an offer of activities oriented towards our target group. And where can that be done more easily than on Facebook? Not via an impersonal search module, but via a personal assistant, a bot to whom you can pose questions very directly. The artificial intelligence of such a bot makes it possible for a computer to analyse and understand human language.”


More than 10,000 users

After 6 weeks Tripfixer was already getting decent traffic, with over 10,000 users. For each of these users the bot generates real-time answers and tips. It draws the offer of events and activities directly from the UiT in Vlaanderen database.
